h2g2 founder Douglas Adams
For anyone who doesn’t know who Douglas Adams was, he was the mastermind and brainchild behind the much loved books The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series.
If you haven’t read them, they are a collection of timeless books which I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone… go on… off you go… you have some reading to do!
Brian and I got involved with h2g2 back in 2010 when the BBC decided to sell it off. My husband Brian, Robbie Stamp (a personal friend of Douglas), myself and a Core Team of users from h2g2.com got together to officially bid for it. As part of the winning bid, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Foundation was also born.
It has been both an honour and a privilege to work alongside Robbie, James (Douglas’ Brother) and Polly (Douglas’ Daughter) over the last 10 years.
